What is Ziwei?
Ziwei Dou Su — often called Purple Star Astrology in English — is an East Asian star-map system read alongside saju in Korea. Instead of eight characters, it places named stars into twelve palaces built from your birth date and hour: one room each for self, money, career, marriage, and so on. The reading describes what sits where — it is not a verdict on how your life must go.
How is it different from a saju reading?
Saju reads composition — what you are made of, and what season you are in. Ziwei reads position — which area of life each theme sits in, and which ten-year decade activates it. In Korea the usual order is saju first, then ziwei when the saju reading rings true but doesn't explain where the pattern keeps happening.
Do I need my exact birth time?
It matters more here than in saju. The birth hour sets where your Life Palace falls, and that arranges the other eleven rooms. If you don't know it, we cast the chart from the traditional default hour and the reading says so — the parts that lean on the hour are read more cautiously.
Is this the same as Chinese Zi Wei Dou Shu?
Same root system. We read it through the Korean practice, with the same chart engine and palace logic behind our Korean-language ziwei product — written in English, palace names translated and explained as they come up.
Will it tell me my fate?
No, and a reading that claims to is selling certainty it doesn't have. A chart is a map of positions: it shows where themes sit and when they tend to get loud. What you do in those rooms is yours.
