Is this a compatibility score?
There is a number, and we show it once. But a score is a shape, not a grade — a high number is not permission and a low one is not a warning. An easy pairing can go nowhere and a friction-heavy one can be the making of both people. The reading spends its space on how the two structures interact, not on ranking you.
How is this different from synastry?
Western synastry compares planetary positions between two charts. Gunghap compares two sets of eight characters — the same Four Pillars system used for an individual reading, read as a pair. The most practical difference is the birth hour: it builds one of the four pillars for each of you, so it changes the reading in a way a sun sign never could.
Do I need their exact birth time?
No, but it helps. Without it we build six characters instead of eight for that person and say so in the reading. The Day Master — the character that stands for them — is still exact either way.
Do they have to know I ordered this?
That is your call, and we do not contact them. We also do not write a private character report on someone who did not ask for one — their chart is described through the pairing, as how it meets yours.
Will it tell me whether to stay or leave?
No, and any reading that does is selling you something else. Two charts describe how you meet. What you do about it is yours.
